The life of Lord Buddha has been depicted in Indian art variously. The different aspect of the Buddhist Jatakas has been carved on stone and painted on the walls of Ajanta, Ellora to Alchi. The Gandhara, Mathura, Amarawati and Sarnath schools of art made a great contribution in the Indian art. Sculpture, painting and other art object on the life of Buddha are found all over the world. An exhibition titled ‘Buddha’s life in Indian Art’ has been mounted intended to provide glimpse of the life of Buddha. Some rare photographs of objects from different museum and site from different parts of world are main attraction of the exhibition.
